This Church of Christ community outreach program just screwed around with a friend that lost his job and became homeless, and is truly living out of his car. These so-called Christians (obviously by actions are only Christian in name only) refused to give my friend and his 5 year old son any food while he is looking for a job supposedly because I accepted my friend into my house as a guest - allowing him to temporarily park his car in my driveway so that the city does not tow it and his belongings away, and allowed my friend to sleep in my guest bedroom a few nights instead of shivering in the below freezing cold of his car. The reason for refusing him food was that the ""total household income is too much"" for him to qualify for the food pantry so that he does not have to beg for food from me or anyone else --- a reason that I find so ludicrous that I am thinking this is just an excuse and they have another reason for not helping him. My friend was accepted in the job club and written he could depend of having food through January 16 so that he could concentrate on getting a job, but then dropped from the food program just after telling the director he is a Jew instead of Christian. I am not at all supporting my friend financially, and to even consider my income as if was my friend's is so petty. The director of this outreach actually said that my friend was trying to cheat the system and could only get food if he was living 100% in his car and only if his car is not if parked in my driveway - but again this must be an excuse because there is no way my Jewish friend can cook or warm the food he would receive if he is living solely out of his car.
