Review content:
I hired Lisa McNelis of McNelis Architects for a major remodel we were doing on a 1930?s 1000 sq/ft house in Seattle?s MapleLeaf neighborhood. She was listed as a recommended architect in a local Seattle home magazine, and after meeting with her, I knew she could see my vision. Our big problem was that the original house had a very traditional look, and we wanted a modern feel. She was very excited about the idea and was able to tie the existing house in to the new addition wonderfully. Having spent a fair amount of time collecting magazine cutouts and creating rough floor plans, I was very happy to find an architect that listened to my ideas and came back with something very close to what I had envisioned. On several occasions she made recommendations regarding cost and aesthetic improvements that I am sure helped create the great spaces we have. Lisa worked hard to bring a unique feel to the house without adding a lot of extra costs. Her plans were very well done as well. The city approved them with no changes, and our contractor has commented several times how well thought out they were, which had a lot to do with the entire project staying on budget. In short, I would use McNelis Architects again.
