I've bought bikes and bike parts from a bunch of bike shops in the Bay area. My experience at Bici Bikes has been the best by far. Bici Bike appears to be a one-man operation, and Gary is a genuinely nice guy. He asked me how much I wanted to spend and gave me a bunch of options in that range. He never pressured me or tried to up-sell. (In spite of that, I managed, as usual, to up-sell myself, but that's just due to all the mouth-watering inventory in his shop :-) He measured me pretty carefully, watched me ride my old bike on a trainer; and made some notes about the setup. When the frame came in, he gave me a call in case I wanted a picture of the frame before he build it up. A few days later, it was ready to go, and as far as I can tell everything is pretty much perfect. He had noticed several fit problems with my old bike, and the new bike definitely fits better than my old one.
