I'm french, so I was interested in going to La Madeleine and find out how ""french"" they really were. They were some hit, but also some miss.
The food is overall pretty good, but some of the pastry are below par. Stay away from the chocolate eclair, but do try the Strawberry Napoleon. The croissant, almond croissant, chocolate croissant are very average. I have yet to find a good croissant in the city. The baguette is pretty good. I liked the Tomato basil soup, but not the french onion soup. Also, the service can be very very slow, but they are also very very nice.
Good for a quick stop.
