Before Memorial Day my Whirlpool Calypso washer stopped after 23 minutes of the 45-minute wash cycle. I called Essers and left a message but no one called back. I called a week later just after Memorial Day and got an answer. Technician Jay Esser came out at the end of the week. The machine started working ok [which it always did] so he charged me for a trip charge and left. Just 23 minutes later the machine again stopped. It took over a week for hum to return. He determined that the pump/motor were allegedly bad, called the parts store [they had one in stock] and said when they got the part they would call. It took TWO WEEKS to get a part that was in stock locally! Jay Esser replaced the pump/motor and the machine started ok. After 23 minutes it again STOPPED WORKING! After returning Jay determined the main control board was defective. [I think this was the problem all along.] After waiting ten weeks I called Whirlpool and their service assistance center person agreed that the main control board was probably bad and they had 87 in stock! Retail was $179 plus $30 shipping. Its now been over 3 MONTHS and my washer still isn't fixed. Esser called Aug 19 and said they would be over on Wednesday, Aug 24. NO ONE SHOWED UP! My wife called them on Thursday and left a message, and I called five times on Friday and left messages. They do NOT call back or answer their phone. So far I'm out over $300 in repairs that did not repair my washer, BEWARE before you use their service! A year ageo they were great, but not now!
