Review content:
If you're looking for a fun, unique, and unforgettable experience, this is the place to go! I'm the organizer for the Foodie Connection Meetup Group on Meetup and I had an event here recently, and everyone in my group had a complete blast. It was the best event I've ever had for my group, So let me give this restaurant a proper review... THE PLACE: From the outside, you just wouldn't be able to tell what an incredible place this is. But as soon as you walk through the doors, it's like you're walking into Morrocco and suddenly you find yourself under a Morroccan tent decorated with rich and lavish carpeted walls, ceilings, and floors of beautiful Morroccan patterns and art. Little details and artifacts around the room like Morroccan bread baskets and Morroccan paintings gives the place a completeness and authenticity that is truly Morroccan, and brings your Morroccan dining experience to full circle. This place just exudes richness, beauty, and comfort. And when you sit down, you can feel it. THE FOOD: This restaurant has been around for over 30 years and to this day, the menu has remained the same. They are still preparing and serving the same Morroccan dishes of their original recipes that regulars here have grown to love. I had the rabbit meat with steamed vegetables and cous cous, which is Morroccan for ""grits"". I enjoyed it. Plus, they've got a full bar with a great selection of wines to pair your dinner with, or a variety of Morrocan & American beers and mixed drinks for you to let loose for the night and even party it down with the belly dancers. And here's the best part of all this. In these tough economic times, Babouch offers an incredible special to help people who have been hurt by the bad economy, but yet just can't resist dining out and indulging in the better pleasures of life... and it's called the ""Stimulus Package"" and for only $9.25, you get your choice of a main course, steamed vegetables, and cous cous. PLUS, a complimentary 10-minute tarot card reading and belly dancing! In my opinion, that is worth at least $20! This is the only place I know where you can get a bailout for getting yourself stimulized... THE ENTERTAINMENT: And now for the best part, the belly dancing! The entertainment here is excellent! With every meal, you get a free 10-minute tarot card or palm reading, and the psychics are very friendly. When the belly dancing is about to begin, lively Morroccan begins to play, and then belly dancers make a pretty majestic entrance. The belly dancers & waiters/waitresses are really great about setting the mood and getting everyone into a lively & festive mood. Throughout the belly dancing, guests will tip the belly dancers and some will get up and dance with them. Sometimes everyone in the room gets up and dances with the belly dancers, and that's when it starts to get really wild and crazy. And in case I haven't mentioned yet, FUN. OVERALL: I dig this place, and I think it's an awesome place to have private parties like birthdays, or just to have a girls-night-out type of thing. I'm impressed by the richness of this place, the liveness of the entertainers, and the incredible deal with the ""Stimulus Package"". I think this restaurant provides an incredible Morroccan dining experience & entertainment extravanga night out whether you're going with a group of friends, or with a date, and the best thing of all...for the price of 2 cups of Starbucks coffee. Overall rating, 5-stars! Pros: dinner for $9.25, free tarot card reading & belly dancing
