Review content:
I have been eating at Las Vacas Gordas for over 10 years. Las Vacas Gordas consistently delivers great steaks in massive portions at reasonable prices. The Enrollada being the most popular (it could feed 4). The sides are nothing spectacular but good enough to complement the center piece of the feast, the steak. The wine list is more than sufficient, but nothing that will get written up in a NY Times review. The ambiance is energetic. It can almost be raucous on certain evenings. All of the waiters/waitresses are inexperienced and the serving of food and beverages to your table has more in common with the roller skate girls that ferreted cheeseburgers, fries and milkshakes to car windows at 1950s burger joints than the service one would expect at an Argentinian steak house. For all its shortcomings, Las Vacas Gordas makes no apologies. Instead, night after night, it delivers on its simple but addicting promise, big delicious steaks at a reasonable price in a festive atmosphere.
