CHECK YOUR CHARGESLIP AND ONLINE ACCOUNT AFTER YOU GO!!!! Visited the Pineville on Friday night, 5/14 with a friend around 7PM. We were forced to valet park, even though there were plenty of open spots available. Even though we saw NUMEROUS empty tables when we approached and there was not a wait, we were told that we would not be seated for ten minutes. We sat at the bar and had a glass of wine before our table was ready. When I asked to have the bill transferred to the table, I was told they did not do this and I had to settle up prior to being seated. Whatever- stupid policy, but not a big deal. After being seated at a postage stamp size table in the bar, we waited 15 minutes before Kim, our waitress came by. She did not introduce herself, but said gruffly ?Specials are on the board, do you know what you want??, we replied that we were not sure and she disappeared for another 15 minutes. I will not bore you with the details, but it got much worse from there. Waiting minimum of 10 minutes to get a glass of wine from the bar that was not even two feet away, never came to check on the dinners, never asked if we needed anything, etc. The food was ok- buffalo eggrolls- over cooked, very greasy, salad- wilted lettuce and too much dressing, meat ravioli- over cooked, not enough sauce, and a dessert to go- was ok, a little old. We each had a bill of $35. I decided not to tip- the waitress really was not worth it, but my friend left $5 on her charge slip. To my surprise, when I was going over my accounts on Tuesday, I noticed that someone had ADDED A TIP! I called my friend to have her look at her charge slip and hers seemed to be correct. So I called the restaurant and spoke to a manager, John. I explained what had occurred and he put me on hold to investigate. He came back and said that the waitress must have switched our charge cards by accident. I asked him to double check this as my friend had already checked her slip and it was correct. He then said that perhaps the credit card company automatically charged my card a tip. I told him this did not make sense, how would they know to charge $5 as my friend did. He said he was not sure and would speak to the waitress and reverse my charge. I hung up and called my friend back to see if I could make sense of this story. She looked online at her account and sure enough, she was charged. I called back to John and told him that this was theft and all of the stories he could come up with would not change it. He then looked the charge up on ?another system? and agreed that I was correct. I asked what he was going to do about this THEFT- BLATANT STEALING FROM THEIR WAITRESS, KIM, WHO ADDED A TIP TO MY BILL WHEN SHE KNEW I DID NOT GIVE HER ONE. He said he would investigate and get back to me. When I pressed him for a timeframe, he agreed he would get back to me by Friday. We will see what happens????My advice, if you really want to go, either pay cash or check your charge online the next day to make sure you are not a victim too!
