I am a single guy and go out to eat several times a week. I guess you could say my kitchen is out of service. So I come home to La Porte to visit mom and take here out to eat dinner. We decide on Main 101, on the corner of Broadway and Main St. in La Porte across from the five points plaza. Mind you a stay near the Westheimer Galleria area where you expect greatness when it comes to food. As soon as I opened the door I was amazed. The restaurant was beautiful the ambiance was set right for dinner with mom or going on first date. The art on the wall kept me a minute but we were welcomed and sat by the host. The menu is broad ranging from $!0 sandwiches to $28 steaks. Mom eat off the Bistro menu which included wine, entree and a dessert for $19. I had the crab medley which is a crab lovers dream. One crab cake and a crab au graten unlike anything I've had in Uptown or Downtown. The service was excellent and the food was even greater. The proprietor came by at the end of the meal and recommended dessert. A homemade pieces of tiramisu caped our meal but not the evening we joined the bar crowed of regulars who ranged from a travailing business men to local homemakers. The bartender introduced us and offered what he called a digestive drink. If I had this much fun with Mom, I can not wait to bring a date to Main 101.
