Review content:
The people who are giving rave reviews to Dr. Lipschitz must have gone to a different doctor.
I found him to be more interested in my tattoos and my husband's decision to be a stay at home dad than in what was wrong with me. On my first visit he told me that we should hire a Mexican to look after our kids because a) my husband should work and b) because Mexicans are too afraid of being deported (!). I mentioned that I was Puerto Rican in hopes that he would realize that I wasn't cool with what he was saying but he kept giving me unsolicited nanny advice.
With regards to my condition, he was always vague about what I might have, even though he sent me for test after test. However, whenever I asked him for what the tests said, he never told me and was always waiting for the results.
Additionally, his office staff while nice, was incompetent. They lost my insurance information several times and booked me on days the doctor had off.
After receiving my first dose of humira, the nurse neglected to tell me that the medication needed to be refrigerated. She just handed me the syringe and sent me on my merry way, with no documentation. 2 weeks later I discovered the error the night before I was supposed to inject myself. I had to race up to their office -- they were closing early for the holidays -- in order to get a replacement shot.
The straw that broke the camel's back was when they booked me at their new office location. The staff repeatedly told me they were moving to a new location, gave me the new address and booked me for an appointment there right after the new year.
I dutifully trudged there after 4 hours of sleep to find that they had given me the wrong address - not once, but three times (I checked the appointment cards.) There was no office at that address and when I called their old office I got a message saying they were closed on that day. I left a message and never received a call back.
Since then I have found a new rheumatologist and I have learned more in the two visits I had with him than in the four months I was seeing Dr. Lipschitz.
