Review content:
I joined St. Charles Avenue Athletic Club on a month-by-month basis & authorized them to directly charge my Chase credit card monthly. About a month before moving from the neighborhood, I asked to cancel my membership. The staff at the front desk told me he would cancel the membership effective the end of that month. When I asked if I could do something in writing, he told me no, it was already taken care of. For the past three months, they have repeatedly told me that it is going to be taken care of. But each month I get charged. I contacted Chase, which is disputing the charges, and ultimately alerted the Better Business Bureau. I called SCAAC to warn them about the report to the BBB, and was offered 1/2 of my money back for the past three months, after I had already cancelled. They don't deserve a cent of that money or yours! Pay a little more for one of the newer gyms on Magazine Street, and save yourself the hassle! Pros: Convenient location Cons: Continue billing after you've cancelled your membership
