My husband and I purchased a home in Lake Forest that was remodelled by Anhalt, Inc. and have spent the past three years ""redoing"" much of the shoddy workmanship. When we began having a natural gas smell in the finished basement, we found that Anhalt had not used ""to code"" pipe, had not angled the pipe from the furnace to the chimney correctly and had not ""lined"" the chimney with a flew liner, so we were getting an acid rain effect. Then, when I went to switch out light fixtures in my newly remodelled master, the electrician reported that the wiring behind the mirror wasn't encased in a fireproof box: the wires were strung loose behind the mirror to a halogen fixture. My tv in the master bedroom is installed with an extension cord threaded thru the wall when they could have installed a box right behind the tv. I have had several other repair issues that revealed bad workmanship, and I would never recommend this builder to others. Many of the flaws we have come across violate city code.
