I live in East Nashville and LOVE to support neighborhood businesses including the restaurants. I wanted very much to enjoy this place. A friend and I stopped in for dinner the other night, hoping for an enjoyable meal. Were we ever disappointed with the food! The service was great, as was the decor. The wine list was short, but not without some enjoyable choices. We had several items including oysters, crab cakes, and a ""special"" salmon salad. The oysters were fine, not great. The crab cakes were a HUGE disappointment, rubbery and overcooked with little crab in them. What a waste of crab. The largest disappointment was the bbq-lime salmon salad. The bbq sauce was very thick and sweet, much too much for the overcooked salmon to take. What a horrible miss in balancing flavors and textures. Maybe I will return to try something ""battered and fried,"" but it is unlikely. I think I might find better at Captain D's in those rare times I crave something battered and fried. Some bottled spring water would have been nice also for diners who do not drink tap water. Pros: The barber shop and laundry mat are gone. Cons: The food.
