I just moved to the greater Houston area from The Woodlands. I used an awesome girl, Angela, at the MAC in the woodlands but since I am getting married downtown and just moved I figured I would try out the MAC @ Saks 5th Avenue since they offer free make-overs Mon-Wed. Well, I made an appointment and when I got there I was told by the make up artist that she wouldnt be working there for long and suggested I wait for the girl who was coming in on the next shift .. that way I could keep the same artist for my wedding etc. When the girl got to work the first thing she told me was ""well, i hope you know theres no guarantee i can do your make when you come back"". The girl asked me if had any pictures.. and told me that they couldnt do a good job without a picture (not true if you are a good make up artist). My experience was aweful, I left there looking like i had just put my own make up on a little heavier. Definitely go to the actual MAC store in the Galleria vs using Saks' MAC counter. The Woodlands has some awesome artists too. because of my bad experience I'm actually staying at a hotel in the woodlands the night before my wedding just so i can use the make up artist who I really like. Pros: complimentary make overs mon-wed with no purchase required Cons: no true talent
