I wholeheartedly agree with the earlier poster regarding P.O. Plus being the ""anti-Post Office."" Service is efficient, polite and helpful at all times. Rules and regulations are minimized to those required by law - no excessive bureaucratic b.s. (unlike practically all U.S. Government institutions, the Postal Service foremost among these! We have kept a box there for over two years, along with forwarding services while we have been abroad, and I can recount that we've never lost any mail and that said mail is delivered promptly by next day or three day service (your choice), once weekly, semi-monthly or monthly (depending upon your needs), or can be held indefinitely pending your return. For those remaining in town, access can be had twenty four hours (after hours through a pass-coded self locking front door that allows you to retrieve your mail in safety and comfort). When we have been concerned about specific pieces of mail (e.g., tax refunds, insurance rebates, etc.), the staff has been willing and able to keep an eye out for such arrivals and has offered to forward these separately in an expeditious manner above and beyond the weekly postings. Because mail is delivered to a street address and not a P.O. Box, virtually every type of mail can be received without hassle, from junk mail (which the staff will filter and ditch at your request, to receiving packages, government and employer paychecks, etc.). Finally prices are VERY reasonable. A five-star establishment with five-star employees who offer five-star treatment. Pros: Virtually everything Cons: Street parking only, which can be difficult, particularly during business hours, but hey, this is SF after all.
