Living on the South Shore, I had been getting my hair colored and styled on Newbury Street but decided to try Maxime after reading about them in Best of Boston. Some of the things I appreciated about the salon are: the products - they use Bumble and Bumble and Davines. The atmosphere - very pleasant. I also liked that they sent email confirmation for appointments and enjoyed reading Ronit's newsletter. Parking is accessible as well. Maxime's prices are inline with what I paid on Newbury Street. My first experience was the best - Ronit, the owner, spent time going over my color and cut. I happily re-booked. My subsequent visits were different. Once, even though my cut was booked with Ronit, when I arrived, I was told that she was no longer cutting hair, and I was referred to a ""senior stylist."" I have never been more disappointed with a hair cut. I left with uneven layers and one side being longer than the other. I went back within a few days and asked if the stylist could ""fix"" my cut. The result was a very short cut which did look much better but I had been trying to let my hair grow out. I returned another time, and got what I rate just an average style/cut. After deciding that Maxime's services were not worth the prices I was being charged, I went to another salon and there, the stylist told me that my hair had been over-processed, and that I had significant hair breakage.
