We recently had problems with our alarm service, due to a storm. We call and left word for John Howard Hubble, Jr. who is the owner of Palmetto Security Solutions. He had installed our system a couple years ago, and seemed very professional.
However when we hadn't heard back from him after several days we called the dispatcher at the monitoring service for our alarm system. We were told that Mr. Hubble had been out of business for almost six months....
We also called VISA to let them know we were having problems receiving what we had prepaid for in terms of monitoring service. They checked and then indicated they had had several complaints from others along the same line regarding this person and his business.
Our impression is that he charges customers for monitoring service, but then does not pay the firm that actually furnishes the 24 / 7 monitoring service. Not really sure how long this has been the case as no one contacted us of any change to our account and we wouldn't have know we had no coverage until we had storm damage.
If you're currently using Palmetto Security Solutions you might want to check with your monitoring service. They'll be happy to verify the information in this review... Lastly if you see Mr. Hubble you might mention it to the Greenville County Sheriffs' Office as unless he's already their guest they're likely still looking for him as well.
