Review content:
I will never buy furniture from Rothman again. I paid in full for a $ 875.00 leather couch. I paid this money with a credit card to Paul at the O Fallon Il, location. I was assured that there would be no problem with delivering the furniture on April 22, 2011. In the mean time my wife and I sold our living room furniture on Craigs List. Friday the 22nd I rent a truck and show up at the above listed facility and Paul immediately leads me to his desk. At which point without even pulling the sale ticket up on the computer he tells me that my furniture is still at the warehouse. Which is to say that he knew the minute he saw my face he was going to tell me furniture was not in, and thought it would be a good idea to lead me away from other potential buyers when he told me. I told Paul the week prior that I was making special concessions to make sure that I would have a truck on Friday the 22nd. During the entire week I received not one phone call to tell me that my couch would not be deliverable on the date set. As a result my family, including realtives from out of town had to sit in bean bag chairs for Easter weekend. The final insult was yesterday, a week later, when the couch was finally delivered no one from our family was home to take the delivery. As a result we had to have a neighbor let the delivery crew in. when we arrived home that evening we discovered that the leather had a 3/4 inch tear in it and had been repaired in order to conceal it. The salesman mislead me. He didn't give us a courtesy call to let us know that our couch would not be delivereable on the specified date, and the furniture was torn. So my question to anybody reading this is why would you take these kinds of risks with your hard earned money? They had the same exact couch across town for the same price and I wish I had spent my money there. The moral to the story if you choose to spend your money at Rothman.... Buyer beware! Also rmember that the store employees can post fake positive comments as well. But you know this one is the truth.
