Last summer I was plant shopping with friends. We'd purchased $200 worth of bedding and potted outdoor plants. We had all of out purchases in two carts... Well, almost all of our plants. When we got back to my house and I was looking for my plants which should have been mixed with in with my friend's... They weren't. I'd forgetten them on the checkstand next to the one we'd gone through. I'd taken them out of the cart to make room for some of the other plants. Dumb, I know. Totally my bad, I get that, too. But that didn't mean I didn't want the plants! So I called up Home Depot and explained what happened. After being shuffled from person to person reciting the same information, hanging out on a hold a few times, the customer service girl said she'd call me back. I assumed that they were going to talk to the cashiers and stockers to see if they remembered any plants on the cash register. BOY HOWDY WAS *I* WRONG! So she calls me back in a few hours and tells me she talked to security and they ""reviewed the tapes"". Uhhhhh, what? Yah, so they said they reviewed the video surveillance to see if there were plants left behind. She said there weren't. Hmmm ok, well, I don't have the plants... And I was only talking about a certain number of the CHEAPEST of the plants... Just 10 or so value packs and herbs... About $20 from well over $200 of plants. So basically they were accusing me of fraud. Yah... well, I used to spend THOUSANDS of dollars at Home Depot for my decorating business. Now I spend all that cash at Mom& Pop small buisnesses where they actually know what they're talking about! Kiss my grits Home Depot! But you've done me a HUGE favor to help me make the switch to consciensious consuming! Pros: Cheap Stuff for Cheap Cons: Inept service at best
