Sent a laptop hard drive in for recovery with a complete list of the files I wanted recovered. I was even so kind to provide these professionals with complete file paths from the root directory down. I wanted FOUR... only 4 folders. I have quite a bit of experience with this sort of thing having worked as data recovery technician before. The only reason I did not perform this myself was because I no longer have my tools or spare drive parts lying around. Anyway, I accurately diagnosed the problem with the drive before sending it and knew the platters were completely recoverable.
