Review content:
I hate to do this BUT we were absolutely and totally disappointed with the overall experience here. Terrible experience for a supposed 5 star restaurant. Poor service, dirty and spotted silverware, absolutely no elegance (a little charm but not much). The atmosphere and quality of food certainly did not justify the outrageous prices. The veal was good but the rest of the food was just so-so: certainly not nearly good enough to justify the price. Dinner is served with cold Italian bread and packaged butter in foil. A very limited and below-average wine list with very few choices. Once ordered, it took 15 minutes for them to bring the wine to our table. To top it off, they didn't open the wine at our table: it was opened behind the bar (and a divider) 'then' they brought the bottle to us. There was no wine aerator on the premises and they had to search for a decanter. We let it breath for 10 minutes and then tasted. It didn't taste like a 2010 Silver Oak, Alexander Valley (I should know since I have a few cases at my house). We informed them of the 'off' taste and asked the waitress to retrieved the cork for us; this took 5 minutes. When she brought it to us, It was cut 'evenly' in half. FYI: bad corks don't break 'evenly' in half - they fragment. It appeared as if the cork was literally cut in half. It led us to believe that they may have switched out the contents of their most expensive bottle for a much less expensive one (Coppola). You get the feeling that they just don't care enough to want to impress you. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you like driving to the ghetto and paying outrageous prices for average - good food with below average service and atmosphere.
