Review content:
First, let me say it goes against everything I believe in to give an a small independent business a scathing review. However, I believe this situation has escalated to a point that I have no other choice. Since I am about to go to court to resolve this, here's the FACTS. I have been a loyal customer to Levine's Framing for over a decade. Steve Levine is a true artist in the framing world. I have had several high-end framing jobs that have turned out fantastic; several can be seen on display in my bookstore, the Iliad Bookshop. I had left a valued Charles Addam's original artwork with Steve and when I called recently to see if it was ready, I was informed that Steve Levine had sold his business to his former employee and that my artwork is nowhere to be found. I was floored when the the current owner insisted it was "" not her problem"" and refused to call Steve and discuss the problem as she said he ""REFUSED TO TALK TO HER"". She then gave me a phone number to supposedly call Steve, but the phone number was bogus. After yet another trip over to the frame shop to insist on a more thorough search, the current owner showed me several flat file drawers of customer's art that had no names or work tickets attached to any of it. While she shuffled through them like yesterday's newspapers, I asked her to contact her insurance company. Either she does not have insurance or she is just refusing to acknowledge that this is her problem. At this point she even rejects my mail (talk about denial). It's one thing to go ""la la la...."", but she has buried her head in the sand. Bottom line: If you value your artwork and don't want it lost FIND ANOTHER FRAMER.
