I rent on Beachwood in Los Angeles and I can't say enough about how responsive the management company has been. They stuck up for me on my first day here when a neighbor had left is stuff in the washer and I figured I'd do what I thought was polite and neighborly which was dry his clothes that were sitting in the washer all morning as I didn't want to just leave his stuff sitting in a wet clump on top of the dryer to make room for my load. Well to make a long story short the dude took my clothes and left a ransom note. He said LA is a tough town and he's got meetings with Clooney and I shrunk his Clooney pants! I was a little worried about my crazy neighbor but I'm cool with crazy people. I got my clothes back after the attempted shake down. Better Property sent over the building manager who introduced herself and they followed up with me for weeks on end to make sure there were no issues. Again, they didn't have to follow up but they did. I've never been late on rent but lots of reviewers here seem bent out of shape about being charged when they didn't pay on time. I don't know why this is a bad thing. Doesn't every business have a penalty policy about being paid late? Just saying it seems a little weird to be bent out of shape about it. The building is well maintained and at first I didn't pay extra for a parking spot but it got to be a huge pain in the ass to park on the street. As soon as I requested a spot they provided one. I didn't get a run around. They didn't try to keep the spot open to throw it in on the deal on another unit as I'm sure that would have made things easier for them in this economy. They simply set me up within minutes of me asking. Oh ya, I almost forgot after about 3 months of living here the fridge handle fell off and I expected some half ass repair job but they sent over a guy to look at it who said the handle couldn't be repaired and he thinks they should give me a new one. A few days later a delivery man arrived with a with brand new fridge and took the old one. The service I've received has been highly responsive. I'd totally recommend A Better Property Management Company Pros: very very responsive
