Review content:
Visiting family in Alpharetta is normally a boring task. The restauraunts in the area tend to be a bit uninspired. Last time however we went to SmokeJack's in downtown Alpharetta. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and I was glad to see they had an extensive selecion of vegetarian sides, and salads. Their wine list was simple but it managed to avoid the pitfalls of Kendall Jackson and the like. The service was great, they told us about how the food is prepared and walked me through the many sauce options of a barbeque rookie like myself. The atmosphere was great, it was a blend of rustic tavern with a distinctive art collection of abstract Jazz musicians. Great value was had with all of us taking home leftovers from our big plates. The pulled pork was so good it just fell apart in my mouth, combined with the house Carolina Mustard sauce of which I am now a convert. Don't miss out on a chance to see this classic cusine redone in Alpharetta.
