Review content:
There was much confusion about what was included in the contract and we ended up paying more to the contractor to complete things we both had previously agreed were in the contract. The contractor did not complete the work in a timely manner and did not adequately supervise their subcontractors. We were billed for work not completed or inspected. The contractor did not have the proper equipment to complete the job and asked us to borrow equipment (back hoe) from a neighbor for them. The contractor violated the limits of disturbance and consequently received a stop work order from the county and did not tell us. We both agreed it was better to part ways with the project not complete. After both sides agreeing to this the contractors will not sign a statement to terminate the contract that requires them to take responsibility for the work they did complete. We do not owe the contractor any money.
