Dr. Bernie is my Counselor, Pastor, and Friend. He has patiently and gently helped me to see who I am in Christ, and walked with me through my painful past. Upon first meeting Bernie I was in a bad place. My marriage was falling apart, I was out of work, and I was falling apart. I wasn?t ready to really give him a chance to help me but I went?more out of obligation than actually believing he would be able to help. The more I went the more I felt like I was going to fall apart at the seams. Slowly he worked with me, empowered me, helped me to see who I was, not who I had become. He showed me unconditional acceptance, and never judged me once. The more I shared the more I wanted him to know. He didn?t dare try to fix the twist in me?he just listened and allowed me to talk and would gently interject occasionally and bring God into everything. I don?t have to continue to see him, but I do. I will never be completely healed while I am still alive, but that is OK. I don?t see Bernie out of obligation anymore. I see him so I can continue the work of becoming the man that God made me to be. After four years I can honestly say that everyone needs a Dr. Bernie in their life. Thanks Bernie.
