Well, I was shocked that a tune-up for my AC/Heating would be $839.00 Total ($266 for the capacitor, $169 for another capacitor, $79 for the pan treatment, $266 for the electromagnetic switch, and some other charges, but I can't tell you what the other charges were because they did not give me a receipt--interesting--isn't it?). I was also shocked that the home inspector told me that I have a 16 seer, and the tech from Air Rescue told me that I have a 10 seer... The tech was very nice, but I did get the feeling that everything he was saying was very, very rehearsed--it seemed like a set up to hit me with a $839.00 bill for a tune-up with justification in the set up for the $839.00 bill... Then he tells me that my AC unit has mold on the ""exterior"" so I should spend $1,127.00 on a ""Stage 2 Biocide chamber"" that will kill the mold with ultra violet light??? There is mold all over our atmosphere...what is the point? If you think you are escaping mold with a ""Stage 2 Biocide chamber"" you might want to rethink that scenario... Don't forget the $479.00 on the ""Blower CNP"" whatever that is... And $266.00 to see ""IF"" I am leaking any freon... And then of course he wanted to rip out my entire system, according to him it was no good, and he wanted to put in an entire new system for $6,000--$15,000 depending on whether or not I want the ""Yugo or the ""Ferrari"" of AC/Heat systems... ALL THIS FROM A SCHEDULED TUNE-UP???????? Anyway, the home inspector told me my system was great, and that it went to temp in under 60 seconds, so I'm going to run it untill it does not work anymore, and then, and only then--get a new system... OH YES--let's not forget the platinum and gold membership plans. Did all of you know that you can ""NOT"" be a member of the platinum or gold membership plan if your AC/Heat system is ""OVER"" 5 year old? That is what the tech told me...WTF? If my system is 5 years old or less it should still be under warranty, SO I don't need the platinum or gold membership...INTERESTING--isn't it? JOB# 396170
