I was shopping for a wind breaker/ water repellent type jacket that breaths. So I went to Dicks sporting goods, and saw Illuminite for the first time ever. Now here is the amazing thing. I bicycle, and I do so in many different environments as I cycle year round. So to find exactly what I was looking for (a wind proof shell that breathes) but also reflective! and Bonus Bicycle cut! I didn't even look at the pricetag, but I remember thinking after buying it that it was less than probably the majority of what is offered on the market that won't breath. And the reflectivity is a huge bonus as I also ride a bunch at night. I liked it so much I returned and bought a casual jacket shell. This works for me because I am the type that builds my layers for climate. Multi-use. I wear my casual shell year round. On the bicycle I don't. I choose to just get wet in the summer time.
Need a Nite-gear summer short-sleeve jersey though.
I love feeling visible, I love being visible, I love feeling safe, and I love being safe on my bicycle at night. That is priceless, yet Nite-gear offers so much more at no extra cost.

As for quality! I bought these jackets back in 2006. My regret not buying 2 or 3 of each at the time. although I expect many more years of use out of these 2 jackets that I own.
