Finally!! Somewhere in South Florida has put soup dumplings on their menu. If you haven't had them already, be prepared for the singularly best item served in a Chinese restaurant. Thank god there won't be any more excrutiating waits for a trip to Manhattan in order to wolf down these delectable dumplings by the half-dozen (Joe's Shanghai, mid-town or on Pell St. if you're wondering).\r
\r
And if that wasn't enough on it's own, you've got to try the fried "seaweed", chicken satay, and the Peking Duck. Simply put, "out of this world"\r
\r
Not so out of this world was the lobster spring roll. Quite ordinary actually. At $29 for 5 pieces, I'd give it a pass.\r
\r
The restaurant is definitely pricey, even for SoBe, but these particular items are so good, i'll be going back again and again. Decor is impressive and service was first class. Drink prices are normal for SoBe, and the bar area was perfectly comfortable to wait until the rest of our party arrived. Valet cost at the adjoining Gansevoort South is a ripoff but what are you going to do?
