I called 3 drapery/blind companies for estimates on custom plantation shutters for my home. One of the companies didn't return my call, another said it would be weeks just to get an estimate, and a third sent a representative who had to be 800 years old who was less than impressive. The 4th company I called was Michael's of Louisville, which was recommended by a friend.
I was very pleased with the professionalism of the salesperson from Michael's of Louisville during the initial consultation, but I was blown away with the superior quality of the workmanship of the custom plantation shutters they installed in my home. There was a small delay in the delivery, but they stayed in touch with me throughout the process so I didn't feel ""out of the loop"". The measurements were perfect, and when the shutters arrived and were installed, they far exceeded my expectations. I have recommended Michael's to several friends, at least one of whom has had the same style shutters installed in her home - to rave reviews.
Best of all - they were the lowest bidder from among all 4 companies who bid the work! I estimate that the value of my home has risen by at least $12000 due to these custom wood shutters, but the cost was about $6000. A very good investment! I plan on having Michael's do the rest of the windows in my home and would absolutely recommend them to anyone. Superior quality and service, and reasonable pricing.
