Review content:
I initially noticed the room seemed unclean at first sight. There was a pubic hair in one of my beds, so I opted for the one next to it. I inspected the bed, as I always do. I noticed black specs in the seams of the bed. I then proceeded to work on my laptop for the night. At about 12am, while I was still working, a bug crawled next to me. I frantically jumped out of the bed, called the front desk & notified them of the problem. The manager came up to the room, stated that it was a bed bug, & moved me to another room. He noted ?we used to have bed bug problems, but we have exterminators come in all the time to make sure they aren?t here? I didn't sleep that night; I laid there wrapped in towels nervous. I haven't slept through the night in the week since this horrible incident. I called the hotel today to see if they would pay for my dry cleaning, luggage & for the extermination service that I hired at my mother?s house (where I returned after my stay). The manager accused me of bringing the bug in & called me a liar. He said they wouldn?t provide me with any sort of compensation because it was my fault. I couldn?t believe that he would have such a response given that he himself had seen the bed bug in my room & because he clearly stated that they had problems in the past. To say that I am disappointed in the customer service at the Comfort Inn is an understatement. I?m an extremely honest ethical woman. I figured if they had apologized & simply paid for my incidentals; I?d keep this incident to myself. Since they were rude & thoughtless, I?ll be sure to share my incident to prevent future guests from bed bugs. I can?t believe that Choice Hotels allows these types of operators. I?m forever changed by this awful incident.
