My first time going to this place, and it will definetly by my last. After an hour drive to Kenosha from Chicago yesterday (too bad you cant get refunds on wasted time), i arrive to find an old, rundown train car. Thinking ""don't judge a book by its cover"" I went inside, and it wasn't much better. The place looks like it hasn't been cleaned or renovated in ages. i know trying to keep nostalgic involves leaving old stuff up, but dust it, sweep it, mop it, put a fresh coat of paint up. The dishes, silverware, and glasses all looked so old, that they were probably around for the grand opening 100 years ago. This place was a greasy dirty dump. And the bathroom looked like something out of a horror movie. After waiting 45 minutes (and no, they weren't busy at all) of watching the guy at the grill flirt with every guy that came in and sat down at the bar instead of cooking, i received my ""famous garbage plate"", so named because it is absolute garbage. After making it about a quarter of a ways into this greasy, soggy mess, i discovered raw egg (drippy and clear, not soft boiled white, which I could have dealt with. RAW CLEAR EGG). I mentioned something to the waiter about it and his concern was minimal to none. Needless to say, I did not finish my food, begrudgingly paid, and left unpleased. Bottom line, the food is horrible, the service is horrible, the condition of the place itself is horrible, and most of all, my experience was horrible. This place needs to be bulldozed and have something else put up in its place that's useful, like a landfill. I don't know what they did to make Food Network rave about them but it sure must have cost alot. They should have taken that money and put it into the restaurant instead. i will never go back, and will never recommend this place to even my worst enemies. Thanks for the horrible experience. I'm glad to see it happens all the time and mine just wasn't a fluke. Franks Dive shouldn't even get the 1 star i'm giving it, but i cant post a review without giving it at least one.
