Review content:
I cannot fairly comment on the jewelery aspect of this business, but in regards to their buying and selling of coins and metals, Mr. Chicken-man is just that.... a total chicken.
If you have metals to sell - silver, gold, etc - do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. APJ employs the very deceptive practice of quoting one price over the phone - one well above other local buyers - in order to lure you in. Only after arriving at the kiosk does the truth come out and the price drops substantially. A 10 ounce Engelhard bar (.999 silver - premium name) ""magically"" dropped by ONE THIRD in value over a matter of minutes even though silver spot had actually gone up slightly.
Coins... don't waste your time as their numismatic knowledge is minimal. You will NOT receive the ""best price"" or ""top dollar"" for your coins as is claimed in the TV commercials. The most you can expect is a fraction of melt value on all but clearly valuable coins. I was offered $30 - or melt value - for a CC Morgan that retails at close to $1000. Go elsewhere.
I honestly place this business on the same level as most craigslist coins and metals buyers who claim to pay ""top dollar"". It is a joke. If you have coins/metals that you wish to sell, find a REPUTABLE dealer or private buyer. Ask for an ANA number (if ripped off you can later file a dispute with a member) or affiliations with other respected non-local organizations. BEWARE!
