Review content:
Went here for a few drinks after work on Friday. The bartender was very nice and the prices were average for a downtown bar ($6-$8 for a cocktail). The Grand Canal is decorated in a sort of southern ""bayou"" style mixed with your typical Boston/Italian flavor (a bizarre combination but it works). The bar's front windows open up on pleasant evenings and it makes for a great open/airy feeling. The deck out back is ample, although it does look onto the BigDig tunnel surfacing at the Leonard Zakim Bunker Hill bridge. In terms of dress code, I wore shorts and flip flops with a collared shirt with no problem. Typical Boston pub/bar attire will let you blend in just fine.
Pros: Atmosphere, location, size, friendly staff
Cons: Not exactly as it feels based on its website.
