Review content:
On Thursday, July 20, 2006, I took my car to Porcello's, Inc/Gulf Gas station on 710 Enfield Street in Enfield, CT 06082, ph#: (860) 745-7676 to have my A/C problem diagnosed for $34, the price quoted to me by the owner, Matt Porcello. Before I left the repair shop, I told Matt to call us and let us know if he finds anything. Since I hadn't heard from them all day, I called three times to inquire about the status and their only reply was ""the mechanic's working on it"". At the end of the work day around 5 pm, I called again only to find out from Matt that I owe $267 for services that were done without an oral or written consent from me. Matt was given my cell and home numbers and never called for an approval to recharge the A/C for $110 plus computer/scanner work on the Check Engine Light, which is unrelated to the A/C, for about $80, and the rest is the diagnostic fee. How can a bill that's supposed to be $34 turn into a whopping $267 and with NOTHING fixed? Needless to say, I told him to stop working on my car. When I asked Matt why he didn't call to tell me about these ""services"" before he did them, he said he was too busy. On Monday, July 24 at 8 am, I picked up the car after coming back from a weekend trip. Instead of disputing the charge b/c I didn't get anywhere with Matt a couple of days ago, I let the service manager, Andy, know I wanted to pick up my car and asked for the bill. The repair order now showed $150 instead of $267, probably in futile hopes that I will change my mind and let them ""finish"" the job. After 5 minutes on the phone with Matt, he came back and said we could take the car without charge - no bill, no repair order, nothing for evidence. And they sabotaged my car!!When the car was brought in, the window was working and now, while it was in their hands, it is not. Don't trust them - you'll be glad to stay away and tell all your friends!! Pros: Nothing. Cons: They're all cheats!
