We have been going camping at this camp ground 2 times a year for several years, 1st time on Memorial Day Weekend and the 2nd time during the Reinactment weekend in October. Everytime we go, the showers are not working properly. You go to take a shower, and they only stay on for 5 seconds tops, they will not fix them. They put in gravel lanes or paths to the tent sites, you are not allowed to drive on them to unload and set up you camping things. This past weekend (Memorial Day weekend, 2008) my brother in law was unloading a truck load of fire wood for our camp site and his. The wood was large and heavy, so he drove up to the site to unload, he actually got a warning ticket. They told him if it happened again, he would get a $75.00 fine. The kids (17, 18 and 20 went to the fort, they were run off by 6 people who were suposed to be practicing for some reinactment). These people were not using the fort, but other areas, and actually run off three people who were well capable of staying out of their way. Needless to say, we have gotten to the point to where we are going to be looking for a better place to camp in the future. We travel there from Central Missouri, and to have the shower conditions the same every year, to be gotten in trouble from the park ranger and so on for driving up to the site to unload and set up if utterly disgusting and rude. I would not recommend this park as a camping place to anyone anymore in less it was absolutely the last resort. Pros: It is a camp site Cons: Poor showers that won't stay on for more than 5 seconds, rude people running it and rude rangers
