Review content:
Whether you read this entire review or just the first sentence, my point is that you should NOT get your dress from Mary?s. I did, and I wish that I had read more reviews and taken them seriously. The level of customer service is deplorable. Mary is one of the most condescending and pushy people you will ever meet, and has set this tone in her store. If you are shopping for a wedding dress, you deserve a better experience than coming here?do not let this place spoil what should be a wonderful dress buying / fitting experience for you! Some things to note: you are given a questionnaire when you come in and they attempt to select a dress FOR you; you have to pay for your dress up front, which you do not have to do in other stores; they will question you about where else you went to look for dresses, and then bash every single other store you name; they will talk to you, your mother and anyone else you bring with you, like a piece of meat; they will overcharge you for their shoes (3x retail price) and ?hand-made? jewelry which they push on everyone. As I was new to the area, had not heard the bad reviews of this place, and it was the first store where I found a dress that I loved, I decided that it would be worth putting up with the people who work there for the dress I wanted. In the course of my fittings, I witnessed the terrible and pushy way Mary and her staff talk to customers. On the day that I was supposed to pick up my dress two weeks before the wedding, they brought it out with a huge alteration that I had not asked for?they had accidently turned the wrong dress (mine!) into a deep, pointed sweetheart neckline. This was a stark contrast to what my dress originally looked like. Despite their obvious error, not a single person apologized, or offered any consolation. They insisted that Mary (who was not there at the time) would fix the dress. When I returned, Mary hastily put the dress on me without ANY apology, and tried to pass it off as ?good as new.? Though the dress mostly resembled the original design, the fabric at the top was partially ruined from being sewn, torn out, and re-sewn. The dress never looked the same, the fabric did not lay as well as it once did, and it still bothers me that I can see it up close in my wedding pictures. Though it was not noticeable to most, and my wedding was otherwise a wonderful experience, I have regretted ever going to Mary?s. I also regret not insisting that they further repair the dress, considering the price I paid for it and the obnoxious customer service that I had put up with. At the time I was just relieved that they had restored it to what it was (almost) supposed to look like. In summary, I regret that I gave this place my money and subjected myself, my mother, and my best friend to these people. I wrote this review because I want to reach at least one other bride-to-be and spare them from these same regrets. I have no idea how Mary?s is still in business, and seriously question the authenticity of the positive reviews on this site. Please take my warning- you are a happy bride at a great time in your life- and you will find a perfect dress somewhere else- do not subject yourself to Mary and the horrible experience you will have in her store.
