Businiess name:  Michael Fischer Builders LLC
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
In my 20 years of experience, I have never dealt with such a deceitful builder. His methods are in line with his outrageous fees, $580/square for a basic roof. In the remodel, he performed work that was not approved by the homeowner or permitted by the city of Lansing and did not pass inspection. He submitted draw requests to the bank for payment of materials that have not been delivered to the job site even to this day. For 3 months, he did not return a phone call or come to the job site. Numerous attempts to resolve these issues have failed, even the city inspectors request to join them for re-inspection that show "" there are serious framing problems involving beams that were installed incorrectly, which now create a serious structural problem for the homeowner and must be corrected before further work can be accomplished"" was declined by Michael Fischer. He decided to cancel his permit and leave the house in dispair, as it stands today. His offer of arbitration per his contract came AFTER he cancelled his permit and AFTER he asked for additional money to walk away. Michael Fischer told the homeowner it would be cheaper to pay him than it would be to pay any attorney to fight him. Please note his payment schedule as directed by his franchise, Dreamaker Bath and Kitchen, is to have 50 percent down, 40 percent upon material and 10 percent upon completion. THIS MEANS HE HAS 90 PERCENT OF YOUR MONEY leaving you with little recourse for problems with workmanship, miscommunications, unapproved work, or work that DOES NOT PASS INSPECTION! Avoid this builder at all costs or it will cost you PLENTY. Cons: Not even one star
