Review content:
We have been going here since they first opened their doors and as far as Tex-Mex at a neighborhood place goes, we love it. Contrary to earlier opinion of another reviewer, the warm salsa is actually what keeps me going back. Don't get me wrong, I love pico (and Capulcos has REALLY good pico!) but I love the warm, smoky salsa best. My little one loves the playroom--and so do her mom and dad b/c we can talk and eat while she plays and we're all happy. They have stumbled on occasion with a barely-warm plate of grilled shrimp or lukewarm rice, but that has usually happened on a busy, busy weekend night and they always make it right. If you don't speak up, they don't know so you can't complain. The borracho beans are some of the best in the area. I've had the Del Mar on numerous occasions and it is always piping hot with fresh and tasty ingredients. The teenager 'digs' the supreme nachos and you've got to go try their breakfast!! The best huevos I've eaten this side of Brownsville. Their recent 'specials' have been bringing us in more frequently too--that and the $2 margaritas! Pros: fresh ingredients, great service, plenty of room, playroom for kids Cons: could use a different paint scheme...somewhat drab & depressing interior
