Review content:
I used to love Hi-Tech Automotive until recently. They seemed honest, cheap, and trustworthy. At the end of 2011 that all changed though. I took my car to them because I was experiencing quite a few problems. They diagnosed it, told me what was wrong, and said it would be around $500 to fix. I had them do the work and I picked my car back up later that night. The very next morning, the check engine light came back on and I was experiencing the same problems as before. I took it back into them and they told me it was a different problem (yet with the same part of the car they just replaced). I had them do the work and it cost me another $425. The morning after I picked my car back up from them, the check engine light came back on. I called them and told them, but I couldn't afford to bring it back to them right away since I had just given them close to $1000 in the last two weeks. The problems got worse and worse, and when I called them about it a week later, they told me it needed to be towed to them because they didn't feel it was safe to drive. I told them I got free towing with my car insurance and they assured me that they would get it for me. They charged me for the tow even though I told them I could get it done for free myself. This time they told me my car had a whole new slew of problems, but I chose not to have them do the work. I took it to a new mechanic, and this is the report I got: Customer had the intake caskets done somewhere else. They were not done right. Coil connectors were broken, injector connectors were broken, no gasket on EGR valve, intake gasket surface not cleaned, parts of old gasket were still there. One bolt on coil missing, 1 bolt on throttle bracket missing, air box not bolted on, and vacuum hose not connected. I will never take any of my cars to Hi-Tech Automotive, and I will tell everyone I know to never take their vehicles there.
