Review content:
Parker Adventist Hospital is a ""health care center"" to avoid at all costs. Right now, I am FUMING angry about the horrific treatment my husband is receiving there as a patient on the second floor. I was a patient there last year -- first time I'd been hospitalized since giving birth to my 20 year old kid -- and his experience is nearly as bad as mine was. But when you're emergency-room-ambulance-ride-sick, it seems to make sense to go to the closest hospital, right? If you live in Parker, protect your health and head for Skyridge in Lone Tree. Believe me, the level of care -- even of simple CLEANLIESS -- will make it worth the extra eight minute drive. What's wrong with Parker Adventist? Oh, let's see -- the list is so long it won't fit into one review. After emergency intestinal surgery three days ago,he was served ROTTEN FOOD this morning. A nurse left him stuck in the bathroom for 20 minutes and did not answer the panic alert call -- on his first time walking after surgery. They stripped his bed linens, then ""forgot"" he was waiting for it to be finished -- finishing tasks seems impossible for the low-IQ staffers hired there. A doctor breezily told him everything looked great -- she had read the wrong person's chart. (I can relate -- that exact thing happened to me as well at discharge -- they wrote prescriptions for another patient and handed them to me, and went over another patient's chart info -- I'm sure that's a clear HIPPA violation). What else? You have to nag ALL staffers to (EEEEW) even remember to WASH THEIR HANDS -- this for a man who's had a nightmarish series of hospital-acquired infections. Last night one nurse insisted they had used a product on him that he's allergic to -- he has an allergy bracelet on, it's noted in all his charting info, etc. Freaked us all out. Finally, we were able to confirm that the nurse was incorrect -- but she managed to upset the entire family. Oh, and the rooms are FILTHY -- the so-called ""housekeeping staff"" should be shot along with the kitchen staff that serves rotted vegetable matter and calls it food. Rotted -- he took photos. I'm taking photos, and lots of them. Complaint letter to the hospital will have lots of nice close-up shots of things that are overlooked and disgusting. ] I have NEVER written a review like this -- and it's all exactly the truth. I have never seen such a poor coordination of effort and lack of communication and task follow-through. I am frankly SHOCKED at how awful this hospital is -- and the thought that our insurance company will get socked with a giant bill for horrific, slipshod, overall lack of care (let alone ""customer service"" is part of what is wrong with the US healthcare system. Especially if you have an ill loved one and cannot literally be in the room 100% of the time to oversee their care -- they will receive substandard care, period. DO NOT patronize this Adventist Hospital, if you value your family and your health.
