Review content:
I rented an apartment here for six months during 2009. The local management agrees that I never missed a payment of any kind. Two months after vacating the apartment I received a very nasty note from the new owners, Inland American Apartment Management LLC of Oak Brook, IL stating that I owed them $31.06 for ""...cleaning/damage charges..."" The letter concluded, ""Please be aware that unless you contact me within 15 days I will have no choice but to seek further legal action."" This was the first communication of any kind I had received from Sterling Ridge Estates since moving out. Their own move out inspection form states that there were no damages and no cleaning was necessary. The letter gave a number to call in Illinois. I called it and got voice mail. I left my name and number and have yet to hear back from them. I called the local office and the rental agent told me that the $31.06 was for my final water bill. That was news to me. So, what do you think a management company like Inland American is going to be like if anything goes wrong if you rent at Sterling Ridge Estates? How would you like to be told that you have 15 days to respond to something or they'll take legal action? What if I was on vacation and didn't see the letter until after the 15 days had gone by? Imagine the legal hassles and credit issues you are going to face if you have any problems at Sterling Ridge Estates. My advice: there are plenty of apartments in The Woodlands. Stay away from Inland American and stay away from Sterling Ridge Estates.
Pros: Physical apartments are fairly nice.
Cons: Apartment Management Company very renter unfriendly
