Had a VERY important interview the next day at 6:30 AM; hotel was a mere mile away but I knew it would be raining in the morning, so the Kingsgate Marriott suggested Towne Taxi. I don't know if there is a deal between the 2 companies, but there's certainly no way out of all the companies in the area I would EVER recommend towne taxi.
I called the night before the interview to reserve a taxi for ""6 AM SHARP the next morning."" I made it very clear that I needed the taxi at exactly 6 AM. Fast forward to the next morning at 6:05 AM. Not to be OCD, but needing to be sure, I called the company to insure that my reservation had gone through, and the clerk at the other end snottily assured me it'd be there in 5 minutes. TEN minutes later, now 6:15, there was still no cab. I called back, stating that I needed the cab at 6 AM SHARP and it was now 15 MINUTES LATE. The rude clerk said, ""I need you to be more patient. The cab is across town with business and will get there in a few minutes."" What's the point of reserving a cab if it's still business as usual and you can go pick up other customers at leisure?!?! The cab finally arrived at 6:21--with only 9 minutes to get to the building and specific room of my interview which was at promptly 6:30!! This is so unbelievable!! Who runs a business like this!?
I would never ever use this cab company again. If you need to get somewhere in a timely fashion, call them at your own risk and likely detriment. I'd give 0/5 stars if I could.
