Review content:
Bought my first BMW a 2003 330ci and love the car it's exactly what I wanted. My salesmen before and at the sale did an OK job, not really much to do considering I paid full price, I guess he did get the keys and pulled it up for the test ride, oh ya also sold me the 1.5K warranty. At the sale I had my father with me mainly because I've never purchased a car before. Everything went well until 2 months and 2200 miles later when a rear tire blew out. I took it to a local belle tire and was told both rear tires needed to be replaced, I told them they are new tires. At the time of the sale my salesmen Dustin Johnson told both my father and myself that all the tires were going to be replaced, we had expressed concern that the current tires were shot and he said they would be replaced with new. This was true for the front tires, but as we learned not for the rear which had tires that showed a ss# from 2007, Belle Tire said only has 20-30% tread left. The point of this review is to help others understand that when working with this company beware, replaced with new in this case means with used and new tires, we both assumed replaced with new meant all new? Remember we paid full price and purchased the extended warranty, getting new tires were the only concession they were making nothing else. When I called Justin he denied ever saying 4 new tires, here is a piece of his e-mail . There is really no way for me to put it and sugarcoat it to make you feel good, but I really do not feel as if I at any point represented this car to be sold with 4 Brand New Tires. May have said we are replacing all 4 of the tires that you drove it on the initial test drive as they were all replaced, but never did I say 4 Brand New tires. You would think if they were replacing them with used wouldn't the customer want to know how used? WHAT did I just say that? Used tires I've never heard of a BMW dealer replacing tires with 2 new and 2 used? Is that even legal? Maybe a used car dealer at Gratiot and 9 mile but a BMW dealer? Really? Maybe they aren't really a BMW dealer? ???? I'll contact BMW corporate next to see what they say? A note from my dad, I've purchased 5 BMW's between Erhard of Bloomfield and Bavarian Motor Village and was shocked at this policy and at the response of the salesmen. I also contacted the management at Erhard and they would only say that they have heard this before regarding Ann Arbor and it didn't surprise him at all. Also that their policy as well as Bavarian Motor Village was to always replace with new never used mainly due to liability issues. My suggestion to anyone looking at a BMW, Buyer beware, wished I had read the reviews, live and learn. Hopefully these reviews won't sour the product because these cars are amazing, and so are the other dealers check out the other guys their sales and service are exactly what you would expect from a BMW dealer, read their reviews then read Ann Arbors. Shame on you Ann Arbor, you really blew it your a disgrace to the BMW brand, do us all a favor sell your dealership, please. ED B
