Review content:
My husband and I just moved to LoDo, and were anxious to try Red Square, as we walk by it all the time. So we made a reservation, and as soon as we walked in the door, we knew we had discovered a special place. The staff was courteous and professional without being stuffy, and they were all smiling and happy--a sign of a good restaurant in my book. We had heard about the house-made flavored vodkas, so we started our meal with shots of raspberry vodka: delicious! As for the food, for appetizers I had the goat cheese and tomato salad, the perfect combination of fresh tomato and warm, comforting goat cheese drizzled with balsamic dressing. My husband had the scallops, which were seared to perfection and came with artichoke hearts and crispy garlic. We had a tough time deciding on our entrees, as everything on the menu looked good. I finally chose the salmon, and my husband went for the duck. Our waiter helped us pick out a great bottle of wine to go with our meal. My salmon was fabulous, and my husband enjoyed his duck, although it was bit rich and heavy for the hot summer weather. We were too full to order dessert, but the table next to us had a lemon tart that looked amazing--we can't wait to go back and try it! The only negative thing we experienced was that toward the end of our meal, the bar started to get quite full and noisy--it was a Friday night, after all, but if we had made our reservation for earlier, that wouldn't have been a problem. Overall, we had a great meal with great wine, and didn't cringe when the bill came; everything was very reasonably priced. We will definitely go again! Pros: Good food, good prices Cons: Rowdy bar crowd
