Review content:
'Budget Brakes' shops use their fabulous $78.00 dollar (the price at the time of this review) brake special to lure you into their shop, but if your knowledge of brakes in general is limited the price can skyrocket very easily, and in many cases unnecessarily. I took my 02 Ford Focus in to Budget last week to have the front brakes replaced. They offered to also check the back brakes at no charge... Fine with me. when they got the wheels off they showed me what I would "supposedly" be needing. What they suggested for the front brakes was OK with me. Replace the pads, turn the rotors (which was the main reason I was there to begin with), and replace a couple of worn caliper guides, which did look kind of worn out. No problem there. However my BS radar detector started going off when he told me what I supposedly needed for the rear drum brakes. The shoes WERE pretty worn down, and yes they needed to be replaced... soon. However, the Budget man was strongly suggesting that I replace all the springs and hardware on both rear wheels.
