Review content:
Our 2 mini schnauzers have gone to Safari since we got them, almost 6 years ago. At first, we (and the dogs) loved it - great, friendly service and good grooming. The dogs seemed to enjoy the day camp. However, over the past couple of years, the prices have skyrocketed (they've tripled), and our level of satisfaction has gone down. The webcam was an eye opener as far as day camp - the time we watched, one dog stood in the corner the entire time, while the other wandered around aimlessly with the other dogs. So much for "having a great time with our pals playing and chasing the toys" that was always on their report cards. The past several groomings, there have been problems with clipper burn, the last one so severe with one of the dogs that we had to make a visit to the emergency vet on Friday night for antiseptic, antibiotic salve and a shot. The poor guy's posterior was scraped raw, and he was in so much pain he couldn't stand up. He just sat in the floor and whimpered. No excuse for a groomer being that careless with an animal. We've recommended Safari to many, many friends in the past, but no longer. This is not the place to take your pet if you care about their well being.
Pros: Nice surroundings, fun theme
Cons: Extremely high prices, pets in bad shape when returning home
