Review content:
I joined Pak West a year and a half ago to find that we really let our trucks go into disrepair. Early this year, we got aggressive to get our trucks back up to speed. My supervisor had been on board with North Bay Truck Center for a little while, and we have been working particularly close with them for the better part of this year. They've got good intentions, but they are human, and there have been a couple of big, expensive mistakes, bordering on incompetency even. There were a couple of issues with the work not actually being done even, and we would have to make several return trips to fix what should have been fixed on one trip. I don't mean to bash them, and I don't have an ax to grind or anything. I'm happy to do business with them. They mean well, and they put their best foot forward. They just need to be a little better on getting the job done, knowing what the job details, and giving correct quotes as far as timing goes and when the trucks will be ready. Pak West, like a lot of their customers, depend on our vehicles, because they are what make us our money, and when a truck isn't ready we have to switch to Plan B, and then our service suffers because of it. I'm a truck driver, but I'm also mechanically inclined, so I do understand what they have to do, and I work with them closely and as best I can. They are good folks, and they mean well. They're getting to know me and what I expect, and what we need. Our trucks were in great disrepair, so they've had to deal with that, and it's been an uphill climb to get all the trucks processed, but I appreciate that they can still laugh at themselves when mistakes are made. I look forward to working with them and seeing what we can do in the coming year.
