OK Runner is a great local store to get running shoes and apparel, and honestly I don't understand why some people say they've had bad experiences here. I went in this afternoon, told the staff that I was going to buy a pair of running shoes and that I overpronate and have low arches and need a shoe exactly for that. Within 30 minutes I had bought a great pair of Brooks Adrenaline GTS 12 for about $120 which is very competitive pricing, and they have a 10 day trial policy so if they don't work out I can bring them back no questions asked. This is great customer service, there's no other way to say it. The guy that helped me was extremely knowledgable and polite and didn't try to talk me into or out of any shoes; he listened to exactly what I wanted and I let his expertise guide me to the right pair of shoes.
If you try to act like they know more about running or running shoes than the guys that work there, I can imagine they won't go out of their way to be extra polite or helpful, but that's probably try for any profession. I don't know if that's the experience of the other people who wrote reviews, but regardless I think this is probably true.
Let them know what you think you need and what you value in a shoe and let them guide you from there. This is a GREAT local store and I'll absolutely be buying my running gear from them in the future.
