Businiess name:  Kamm Mckenzie OBGYN
Review by:  Ann H.
Review content:
At first, it felt like they were being patient with me, legitimately concerned for me. But when it came to the pelvic exam, I requested a mirror, I tried to tell the nurse I couldn't see what was going on, she moved in front of the mirror and said "This should be fine". I kept telling the doctor, Mr. McKenzie that I still couldn't see what was going on, and I didn't feel right, but he continued with the exam. I am a rape/sexual assault survivor and I have had doctors disrespect me like this before, causing me a huge fear of pelvic exams and the ob/gyn. I felt violated, vulnerable, and I felt like they didn't listen to me enough and they didn't do enough to make me feel comfortable. I took 2 valium for the exam as prescribed by my doctor and felt like I was ready ONLY IF they did what I needed them to do in order to make me more comfortable. They didn't and I went home sore and cried all afternoon. Oh, and what's worse is before the appointment, I didn't even know Dr. McKenzie was a MALE! I SPECIFICALLY asked to see a FEMALE doctor! What a terrible first visit! And they are the only ones that I know of near me that can use local anesthesia for placement of an IUD. I definitely will remember the nurse's face and will request someone else if I ever get her again, and I will DEFINITELY not be seeing McKenzie again! I am going with a FEMALE doctor this time, if they can't give me that, then forget this place, I will find someone else, my family agrees I was mistreated. BEWARE other new patients, I was treated like this as a new patient and a rape survivor! I even told them that! They really do just see you as income, they see you as just a number of patients in a day. :'(
